Characteristic
The cork is not pierced, and thus does not crumble. As the legend goes, the Bilame was the favourite tool of waiters in French “ bistrots ”. Thanks to it, they could take a few sips from bottles and then replace corks without anyone noticing!

In 1949, L’Atelier du Vin patented the Bilame bottle opener. A Masterpiece of Ergonomics
Behind the harmonious simplicity of its design lies a masterful technical feat. The two blades are sturdy, flexible, and slightly curved to fit all necks and corks. The twin blades are protected by a rectangular sheath. The shape of the handle was studied and designed to be as ergonomic as possible when opening and closing a bottle. The Bilame Chrome corkscrew provides an ideal grip to complete all the necessary actions: insert, tilt, screw, and pull.
